Assuming no change in water level and a hydrostatic pressure distribution, (i) Express streamwise hydrostatic forces in front of and behind the gate. (5 marks) (ii) Derive an expression for the streamwise gate-on-fluid force Fx on one-half of the gate as a function of (o, h, w, 0, vi).
