Aspartate Amniotransferase. An enzyme found mainly in the heart
muscle and liver.
Why would you test for this in your OB patient? What diagnosis

Albumin
A component of proteins. Increases osmotic pressure which is
necessary for maintaining the vascular fluid.
Where is this produced? What are the two main functions?


Uric Acid
End product of protein metabolism and excreted by the
kidneys.
Why would you test for this in your OB patient? What diagnosis
is the physician thinking?


Urine Protein Creatinine Ratio
Looks for protein in the urine. Healthy kidneys do not usually
allow protein to pass through the filters. Usually done via
catheter specimen.
