A researcher is interested in the effects of alcohol consumption
on manual dexterity. She recruits 15 participants, and divides them
into 3 groups of 5 participants each. The first group (“Control
Group”) consumes a drink with no alcohol present, a second group
consumes a drink with 1 ounce of alcohol (“1 Ounce Group” = equal
to about one beer), and a third group consumes a drink with 3
ounces of alcohol (“3 Ounce Group”). After waiting 30
minutes, participants then complete a manual dexterity task for
which higher scores indicate better performance.
a) Calculate the SS-within, and the MS-within.
b) Calculate the obtained F.
