A bare copper wire of diameter 2 mm is stretched horizontally in
an enclosed room where the ambient air is quiescent at a
temperature of 24C. An electric current is passed through the wire
such that in the steady state, the temperature of the wire surface
is uniform at 80C. Radiation heat transfer may be assumed to be
negligible. Determine the rate of heat dissipation per metre of the
wire.
