Question 4 A Periodic Analog Sinusoidal At A Frequency Of 300 Hz Is Modulated By Another Sinusoid Having A Frequency Of 1 (100.5 KiB) Viewed 31 times
Question 4 A periodic analog sinusoidal at a frequency of 300 Hz is modulated by another sinusoid having a frequency of 50 Hz and the resulting waveform is x(t) = cos(600nt) · cos(100nt). (a) Determine the period of x(t) and plot one period of x(t). (5 marks) (b) Determine the minimum acceptable sampling frequency for x(t). (5 marks) (c) Using a sampling frequency of four times the minimum sampling frequency from Question 4(b) and a record length of one period from Question 4(a), find an expression for the sampled sequence x[n]. Plot this sequence. (5 marks) (d) Use the MATLAB function fft to plot the DFT of one period of this sequence. (5 marks) (e) Double the record length of Question 4(c) without changing the number of samples, and use MATLAB to find the resulting DFT. Compare results with Question 4(d). (5 marks) (f) Repeat Question 4(c), but use the same record length as in Question 4(d) and a sampling rate that is twice as large. (5 marks)
