A nurse practitioner calls you to ask if Ranitidine can
affect platelet count.
A.B. patient is 62 years of age with a history of HTN *20 years,
Diabetes *25 years, dyslipidemia*15years, congestive heart failure
with a reduced ejection fraction, and GERD. He performed PCI
2 months ago.
Vitals:
BP: 134/76 mmHg (sitting; repeat 138/78 mmHg), HR: 65, RR: 24,
T: 37 degrees Celsius, O2 sat: 90%.
Labs:
WBC: normal, Hgb 14.1g/dL, SCr 1.7m1g/dL, Plt very low, Glu 96
m1g/dL, A1C 6.5%
Medications:
His current medications are Furosemide (20*2), Lisinopril
(40*1), Insulin, Aspirin (81*1), Clopidogrel (75*1), Simvastatin
L(40*2) and Ranitidine (150*2).
