Calculate the values of AV/AR from the data of 1-12 and 10-12 changes measured in Step P10. Discuss the values. Are the values about the same or quite different? How should they be?! Explain why. If your voltmeter has an ultimate resolution of 0.1 mV, what would be the smallest observable change in Rar? Would it be observable with the decade resistance box that you used?

With the bridge balanced, determine the sensitivity of the bridge by measuring the change in V caused by changing Ryer, first by 12 and then by 10 22 (these are your AR values). You can calculate AV/AR (measured in millivolts per Ohm) at home. Record the smallest change that your decade resistance box can make (it is usually 0.122, 122, or 10 22). Once you have completed these measurements, turn off the power supply, unplug it from the outlet, and inform your instructor that you are finished, so that the unknown resistor can be collected from your station.
