textbook question. I am really struggling
Part 1) A shock is moving at 50 km/sec
though a medium with a density of 10 H per cm3 and
a temperature of 60 K. What is the mach number of the shock? What
will be the values for the density, temperature and pressure in the
gas immediately after the shock.
Part 2) Evaluate the energy levels n=1,
10, 100, for a particle in a 1-D box with a box size of a= 1 micron
and a particle mass of a proton. How does this compare to an
interesting energy level for classical object. The H-atom is
moving at room temperature (294 K).
Thank you!
