Q1 Design a power supply circuit using a bridge rectifier and capacitance smoothing. The input is 50Hz mains and the output voltage (with no load) should be 15V. The maximum current to be supplied is 50mA. Calculate: a) The required capacitance value if the output ripple voltage is not to exceed 1V peak-to-peak. b) The transformer RMS secondary voltage rating. c) The peak current rating for the diodes in the bridge rectifier.
