The empirical formula for a plastic is C6H11NO. A chemist wants to study how the material decomposes when exposed to ultraviolet light and decides it would be easier if he used the deuterated form of the material, C6D11NO1 where each hydrogen atom, H, with and atomic mass of 1.00 g/ mole has been replaced by the deuterium isotope of hydrogen, D, that has a mass of 2.00 g/mole. What is the percent composition of the deuterated form of the plastic? (Show your work!)
