5.7 A drive-in theatre screen weighing 20 kips measures 40ft long by 32ft high. Four vertical trusses support this screen, and its bottom edge is 16ft from the ground, as shown in Figure P5.7. The theatre is located in the Los Angeles area in Exposure Category C. For this structure, (a) determine and plot the wind pressure distribution over the height of the screen, (b) calculate joint loads for the interior and exterior trusses, showing them by sketches, (c) base shear, and (d) overturning moment on a typical interior truss.
