A piston cylinder device initially contains 0.15 kg of air at 2MPa and 350∘C. The air goes through three processes to get back to its original state. a) First, the air is expanded isothermally to a pressure of 500kPa. Calculate the boundary work for this process. b) Next, the air is compressed polytropically (with a polytropic exponent of 1.2) to the initial pressure of 2MPa. Calculate the boundary work for this process. c) Finally, the air is compressed at a constant pressure to the initial state. Calculate the boundary work for this process.
