The piping system consists of 380 m commercial steel pipe with an internal diameter of 300 mm, two regular 90∘ flange elbows and an open gate valve. The performance data for the pump by manufacturer is given as follows: Table 1: Manufacturer data of centrifugal pump a) Illustrate the problem with a schematic diagram and generate the required pumping head (hpump ) at the flow rate of 525 m3 /hour if the difference in elevation between the two reservoirs is 20 m. b) Repeat calculation in a) for all volume flow rates in Table land tabulate the results in a table. Construct the relationship of required pumping head, Hrequired (hpump ) as a function of volume flow rate.
