As we can seethere is more than just installing the software and moving on.There are many other considerations such as budget, features,phases, training, documentation, and more! In this assignment weare going to review the implementation process steps (listed below)based on a scenario. 1. Environment Setup 2. Installation,Configuration, and Content Reconciliation 3. Content Modeling,Aggregation Modeling, and Rough-in 4. Early Content Migration 5.Templating 6. Non-Content Integration and Development 7. ProductionEnvironment Planning and Setup 8. Training and Support Planning 9.Final Content Migration, QA and Launch Each student has beenassigned 4 steps from the list above to complete as part of thisassignment. Review the scenario below and then complete theassignment from the “Your Assignment” section. “TrainingConsultants” LearnTech is a global training team specializing inthe top Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and EnterpriseResource Planning (ERP) software suites. They recently expandedinto SharePoint training and plan to continue growing. The companyis primarily made up of Technical Trainers, ImplementationSpecialists, and Project Managers. They have a small Human Resourcedepartment, IT department, and Sales and Operations team. Theycurrently have 100 employees located throughout the world who workfrom their homes or customer’s location. They are based out ofToronto, Ontario. LearnTech has more than 20 implementations thatthey are working on currently and want to be able to coordinate andschedule content as much as possible to avoid last-minute rushes.This will have an impact on the implementation as they are workingon projects but also need to upload content into the new system toget it ready to go live. You will need to help them organize fordelivery of content. Currently, they are using a popularOpen-Source CMS software package that until recently started tofail with complex permission structures. They will need to shareopen content, private content, and content behind and username andpassword (or unique permissions). They are expected to work as muchas possible within the new system and want an Enterprise ContentManagement (ECM) system. As they are going to be using a new ECMsystem, they have concluded that they will need to build abrand-new website. Although the budget is not necessary a highpriority, they do not want to cost to become excessive. They valuethe importance of training, support, and documentation as theyprovide this with their core services to clients and want a highlevel of comfort in the new system. They will be counting onconsultants to set up the environment on cloud-computing resources.Consultants will also be required to install and configure theenvironment but must be able to work with the IT Department to takeover configuration long-term. LearnTech has dedicated a ProjectManager, two Technical Trainers, and an Implementation Specialistfrom their team to help with Content Migration and setting upTemplates. These team members are their most experienced membersand are familiar with all processes of LearnTech. A Marketing teammember and IT resource have been dedicated to helping with anynon-CMS content to build the new site. The Marketing team islooking forward to building a better lead-capturing process on theAbout Us page. All team members dedicated to this project will workunder the Project Manager to ensure all planning is coordinatedcorrectly and staff completes their parts of the project.
