Two large parallel planes having emissivities of 0.3 and 0.5 are maintained at temperatures of 800°C and 300°C respectively. Determine the net radiant heat exchange per unit area between the planes. If a radiation shield having an emissivity of 0.05 on both sides is placed between the planes, calculate the temperature of shield and the reduction in heat transfer rate per unit area.
