Thin-Walled Pressure Vessel – Consider a thin-walled vessel
with a radius of 3 m. Plot the longitudinal/hoop stress as function
of the vessel’s thickness for the range of 0.6 to 10 mm. at three
altitudes (5,000 m, 10,000 m, and 15,000). If the vessel if made of
Aluminum (𝜎𝑦 = 95 MPa), what is the minimum thickness (mm) requires
for all three altitudes.
Please clearly show where you are pulling your numbers from, I
don't want just an answer but also a better understanding. Thank
you soo much!
