Eight identical, ideal and lossless 3 dB quadrature couplers
(DC) named DC1, DC2,......DC8 are connected back to back such that
the coupled port of Nth DC is connected to the input port of
(N+1)th DC. The through ports of all the 8 DCs are terminated with
matched loads. All the DCs are ideal and there is no loss due to
coupling and isolation
A)Sketch the schematic of the design .
B)If IW of power is launched at port-1 of DCI, determine the
magnitude and phase of the power received at the coupled port of
DC8 (iC)From your answer in (ii) above, identify the 2-port
equivalent of this design
D) The odd numbered DCs (DCI, DC3, DC5, DC7) are 3 dB quadrature
hybrids and all the even numbered DCs (DC2, DC4, DC6, DC8) are now
replaced by 3-dB rat race couplers. Similar to the previous case,
the coupled port of Nih DC is connected to the input part of (N-1th
DC If IW of power is launched at port-1 of DC1, determine the
magnitude and phase of the power received at the coupled port of
DC8
