QUESTION 2 2.1 A circuit of 120 V, Hz consisting of a resistor connected in series with a capacitor has a current of 4,5 amperes. The voltage drop across the resistance is 80 V. Calculate the value of the capacitance. (6) 2.2 A circuit consisting of a coil having an inductance of 225 microhenry and a resistance of 22 ohms is connected in parallel with a variable capacitor. This combination is then connected in series with a resistor of 9 550 ohms. The combined circuit is connected across a 440 V supply having a frequency of 1 MHz Calculate the following: 2.2.1 The capacitance of the capacitor required to give resonance (5) 2.2.2 The impedance of the parallel circuit (2) 2.2.3 The current in each parallel branch (7) [20] TOTAL MARKS (40)
