Question A roof system consists of 300 mm x 300 mm columns in two mutually perpendicular directions as shownin following figure. Beams run in both directions over the columns. The structure is to be used as an office building. 1) Design the exterior long beam (Continuous, B1 & B2), fc= 25 MPa, fy=420 MPa, thickness of the slab= 150 mm Floor finish consist of 75 mm of brick ballast and 75 mmof floor finish. Use US customary bars. Detail the designed member. B3 B4 B1 B2 4.5 B1 4.5 B2 X 3.0 5.5 2) Design first interior long beam (B4) such that archtichetirally permitted depth of beamis 300 mm Detail the designed member.
