A 12-in well fully penetrates a confined aquifer of 100
ft in thickness. In a long pumping test that reaches a
steady-state condition with a pumping rate of 500 gpm, a 5-ft
difference in water levels was observed between the pumping
well and an observation well located at 200 ft from the
center of the well. (a) What is the hydraulic conductivity of the
aquifer, (b)What is the difference in water levels between
the pumping well and an observation well located at 1000 ft from
the center of the well.
