GROUP PROJECT- ENGR 1212 You are to work to either create a new product (invention) or to improve upon an existing product You will be graded on your ability to follow the engineering design process, including documentation. You are expected to start with problem identification, go through ideation, and refine your ideas based on your initial criteria. You are finally expected to converge upon a reasonable design based on your own measures and to create drawings in Inventor to document your product. Your final presentation (PowerPoint slides & Inventor Parts + Drawings) will be on the last day of class. All members of the group will receive the same grade, so only work with people you want to receive the same grade you do. All questions you have can be addressed during the class periods. It is expected that students will seek counsel and develop their project on a weekly basis. You are to address all steps in the linear design process, but you only need to use one type of analysis, and optimize at least once based on the criteria you've developed. Problem Identification Preliminary Ideas 2 Design Refinement 3 Analysis 4 Optimization 5 Documentation Your grade will depend on whether or not you used all of the steps and how well you document your design (Inventor Drawings) This is due on the last day of class, December 6.
