Russia invaded Ukraine on Thursday, February 24th 2022. Sincethe beginning of the invasion, the flow of Russian oil into Germanyand the rest of Europe has been a source of conflict. With the flowof oil into Europe drastically reduced, there has been a globalincrease in fossil fuel investment and oil production thatforecasts an increase in greenhouse gas emissions. Despiteinternational treaties to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (such asthe Paris Agreement), and international organizations (such as theIPCC) saying that there is no time to waste, the investment infossil fuels continues globally.
