Heavy fuel oil (kinematic viscosity = 0.0045 ft2/s, S.G. = 0.92) is transported through a 12-inch diameter steel pipe (e = 0.00015 ft). A pressure gage at upstream point A, located at an elevation of 213.2 ft above sea level, reads 151 psi. The flowrate is 1.2 cfs. Determine: (a) the total head at point A; (b) the head loss between A and point B which is located 3.1 miles downstream of A (neglect minor losses); (c) the total head at point B; (d) the pressure at point B for each of the three pipe configurations listed: (i) pipe is horizontal, starting and ending elevations are 213.2 ft above sea level (ii) pipe goes up a hill at 1% grade. Starts at elevation 213.2 ft, ends at elevation 376.9 ft (iii) pipe goes down a hill at 1% grade. Starts at elevation 213.2 ft, ends at elevation 49.5 ft
