A main structure for mast framework of Highway Signboard is made from a round steel 150 mm in diameter as shown in Figure 1. The weight of signboard framework is 230 kg locate at the center of the signboard. When the signboard is subjected to the direct wind blast, the average pressure 120 kPa is developed a normal force that acting at the center of the signboard. You are required to design and estimate size of bolt connec- tions and welding at the base supporting section. All calculations is in SI units. Used factor of safety 3 for all designs.
