As part of the same site but in a different network, the clientwould like to use an existing nearly fully loaded transformer todeliver 600kVA to another industrial load with a power factor of0.8, this time using a connection to the main grid. The client isanticipating a growth in active power demand of 25% for this loadin the near future. One of your colleagues has suggested the use ofcapacitors to accommodate this growth without violating thetransformer's capacity limit.
3) Your line manager has asked you to calculate the totalreactive power that these capacitors would need to provide so theclient won't have to purchase a larger transformer.
4) What other measure could be taken to avoid the transformerfrom overloading? Justify your answer and highlight benefits andpotential drawbacks of the solution proposed?
