Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) is considering to develop a new academic building with estimated total connected load (TCL) of 200kW, 0.415kV with 0.85 pf. The incoming supply to the building will be powered from the nearest substation which located 100m from the site and the diversity factor is assumed 0.75. i) Determine the maximum current demand (b) of the circuit. ii) Determine the suitable rating of MCCB (In) that should be used while considering for 20% spare for future extension (refer to appendix 3) iii) Proposed the suitable cable size from the substation to the building if the cable will be laid in duct (underground). Estimated depth is 0.7m with 35°C ambient temperature and 90°C thermosetting insulation. iv) Determine the voltage drop of the cable.
