While it is desirable to have a PRNG have a full period, thatdoes not guarantee good randomness. Consider a linear congruentialgenerator using the settings of a = 6, m = 13 and another one witha = 7, m = 13. For both cases, c=0. Write out the full twosequences for their periods. After looking at the sequences, do youfeel more comfortable with one or the other?
