TransManuCo believes that economic or industrial espionage hastaken place to gather information about the company, discredit it,and steal intellectual property and ongoing research. It is alsoconcerned that attackers have attempted to obtain operationalinformation, such as datasets on clients, pricing, sales,marketing, research and development, policies, prospective bids,planning, or marketing strategies. In at least two cases,attempts were made to sabotage their systems through malware. The CEO now believes that there is someone on the inside thatassists outside attackers and would like to take steps to have itformally investigated and prosecuted. Meanwhile, the CEO plans torequire all employees to go through training to learn aboutcybercrimes and the relevant laws.
