Design Data
a. Flat roof carrying uniformly distributed live load of
20psf
b. Flat roof with 6 inch thickness and 1.5 feet overhang
c beam simply supported spanning 33.5 feet with concrete
strength 3000psi
Design requirement
1. simply supported singly reinforced beam to support flat roof.
all neccessary checks for internal equlibrium should be
statisfied.
2. Check for deflection in accordance with 2018 IBC deflection
Limit . Youngs Modulus should be calculated to ACI 318-14
3. Detail the beam showing all required information to assist in
the construction of the beam as well the nuetral axis and
compressive zone.

need step by step solution.
You are tasked to design a beam to support a roof slab. Design Data 1. Flat roof carrying uniformly distributed live load of 20 psf 2. Flat roof with 6-inch thickness and 1'-6" overhang. 3. Beam simply supported spanning 32'-6" with 3000psi strength See drawing below of the building. Design Requirement design and detail: 1. Simply supported singly reinforced beam to support flat roof. All necessary checks internal equilibrium should be satisfied. 2. Check Deflection in accordance with 2018 IBC Deflection Limit. Young's (57,000 Vfel psi Modulus should be calculated to the ACI 318-14 (57,000 3. Detail the beam showing all required information to assist in the construction of the beam as well the neutral axis and compressive zone .
