Can I please get some help on how to calculate the BRS Scores. Iam currently using excel but i could also get it done in MATLAB.Please help! Briefly, we computed the centroids (mean) of the71-gene signature in B (58 B genes), c(B), and R (13 R genes),c(R), and for each tumor t we defined the BRAFV600E-RAS score (BRS)of t as the difference between the distance of t from c(B) andc(R): BRS(t) = |v(t)-c(B)|2 - |v(t)-c(R)|2 ; where v(t) is thevector of mRNA expression values of the 71 genes in t, and thedistance |x-y|2 is the normalized Euclidean distance between theexpression vectors. Tumors with negative BRS (closer to B than toR) were defined BRAFV600E-like, while tumors with positive BRS(closer to R than to B) were defined RAS-like.
