Department of Architecture 1. The materials used to protect foundations from moisture are referred to as either damp- proofing" or "waterproofing". Damp-proofing materials are water-resistant, but not adequate for resisting the passage of water under hydstatic pressure. Where drainage conditions are poor, or ground water may be present, materials classified as waterproofing are recommended. You are required to complete the following foundation section to include a waterproof membrane on the exterior of the concrete foundation wall, insulation, a drainage system, backfill, and finish grade. Label all features contributing to waterproofing. Refer to chapter 2- Foundations in the textbook p. 65-71. 1 square - l'(30 cm) 1.5 points Finish grade level 4
