You want a telescope that discern objects that are at least 1.60 x 107 radians apart. A.) To achieve this resolution, determine what the diameter of the primary mirror must be if you are making observations at a wavelength of 584 nm. B.) The two stars in a binary star system (two stars in orbit about each other) are 88 AU apart. They would just barely be able to be discerned by your telescope. Determine how far from Earth this binary star system is. 1 AU = 1.496 x 10¹1 m.
