The evolution of flowers from the fossil record appears to havebeen a very rapid event, dating back 130-140 million yearsago. However, many paleo-botanists think flowers probablyevolved much earlier but for unknown reasons, are not seen in thefossil record. What mightbe three reasons the fossil record maybe inadequate in giving us the true evolutionary history of theflower?
