Discussion: Other means of rhetorical analysis (6/22/22) Due Jun 23 by 11:59pm Points 10 Submitting a text entry box or a file upload Start Assignment Last time, we looked at several examples of rhetoric. These four types (ethos, pathos, logos, and kairos) of rhetoric make up the classical approach to rhetorical analysis. Using these types of rhetoric, we can critique various attempts of persuasion. However, there are other, non-classical approaches to rhetoric. These are things you may not have realized were forms of rhetoric. These non-classical approaches include things like music, color, and visual effects. In the following slides, I show a McDonald's ad, various video game covers, and a movie trailer on YouTube: Introduction to Rhetoric 2-1 (1).pptx For today, not unlike last time, I want you to find an advertisement or piece of media to critique. (You may use one of the ads in the posted des if you want, or you can just look one up on the internet.) I want you to critique whatever media item (or ad) you find using a non-classical approach. (This means you will describe how it is trying to convince you, but you cannot mention how it is using ethos, pathos, logos, or kairos.) Your response should contain the following: 1) Provide a link or you may post an image of the ad. 2) What is at least one non-classical approach that being used in your chosen media item? 3) Do you personally find the ad's rhetorical approach to be effective? Why or why not? Your response should be at least five sentences.
