Schroeder & Logan [1, 2] proposed the use an analogversion of all-pass and comb filters in early 60s’ for artificialreverberation. The digital version of these are still used asessential building blocks in today’s much more sophisticatedartificial reverberation algorithms and hardware processors [3,4].With reference to the literature
(1) Sketch block diagrams of digital implementations of theSchroeder’s comb and all-pass filters and derive the z-transferfunctions. Explain why they are IIR filters.
(2) Prove that the digital implementations remain to be comb andall pass filters by finding and plotting their frequencyresponses.
