GFR is defined as the amount of [Select] formed by both kidneys in 1 minute. Dehydration leads to a(n) [Select] in the amount of water in the blood plasma. [Select] feedback is the second autoregulation mechanism for maintaining GFR; it involves the cells of the macula densa monitoring the sodium chloride concentration in the blood.
