An insect 1.3 mm tall is placed 1.0 mm beyond the focal point ofthe objective lens of a compound microscope. The objective lens hasa focal length of 12 mm , the eyepiece has a focal length of 29mm.
Given: image distance = 160 mm & magnification of objectivelens is -12.
A) How tall is the image formed by the objectivelens?
B) If you want to place the eyepiece so that the imageit produces is at infinity, how far should this lens be from theimage produced by the objective lens?
C) What is the angular magnification of theeyepiece?
D) Using the given magnification of the objective lensand the answer to part C, calculate the overall magnification ofthe microscope.
E) Using the equation M = (25cm)*(s′1)/ (f 1*f 2), calculate the overall magnificationof the microscope.
