OSUNIPHYS1 24.3.WA.033.
The radius of a solid conducting sphere is
R = 14.0 cm
and it has a uniformly distributed chargeof 28.5 nC on its surface. The center of the sphereis at the origin ofthe xy coordinate system. The locations A,B, and C are at
(−R/5, 0) cm,
(−R, 0) cm,
and
(5R, 0) cm,
respectively. Determine the potential difference
VA − VB
and
VB − VC.
Note that the diagram is not to scale.
(a)
VA − VB
V(b)
VB − VC
