QUESTION 3 (35 marks) Block A of 140 kg mass, attached to the end of a light cable wrapped round drum B, is sliding down a 30° inclined plane as shown in Figure 3. The coefficient of kinetic friction between the slope and block A is 0.35. Drum 8 has a mass of 50 kg and a radius of gyration of 180 mm A brake torque te is applied to drum 8 to decelerate block A uniformly from 12 m/s to 4.5 m/s in 7 revolutions of drum B 40 kg (c) 30⁰ 0.35 Figure 3 Determine (a) the linear deceleration of block A and angular deceleration of drum B, using the equations of motion, (7 marks) the cable tension, using Newton's Second Law of inear motion, with the aid of a free- body diagram of block A, and (15 marks) the brake torque, to, using Newton's Second Law of angular motion, with the aid of a free-body diagram of drum B.
