A block is dropped onto the top of a spring scale. Assuming that the impact is perfectly plastic, find the downward displacement of the top of the scale. Initially, you may assume a benchmark case where Wblock = 50lb, W scale = 25lb, k = 100lb/in. Note: for this benchmark case, the downward displacement of the top of the scale is 7.45 in. Once you have solved the benchmark solution, create a MATLAB code which will plot the downward displacement of the top of the scale as a function of (a) the weight of the block from 1 to 100 lb, and (b) the value of the spring constant from 0 to 200 lb/in. 50 lb 25 lb 6 ft
