Data analytics is the process of looking at raw data and turning
that data into identifiable and meaningful information. Types of
healthcare data include clinical, financial, and operational data.
There are two types of data analytics, healthcare data analytics
used for making business decisions and clinical data analytics used
for measuring the quality of care. HIM professionals will need a
thorough understanding of healthcare data analytics in order to
conduct database queries, data mining, outcome measures, risk
adjustment, medical terminology, classification systems, and
qualitative and quantitative analysis. Describe the impact data
analytics has in healthcare information.
