Question 3. (17 points) An analog HiFi audio signal m(t), with a bandwidth of B = 18 kHz, is transmitted using Delta Modulation (DM). The stepsize of the DM is fixed to d = 10 mV. a) Calculate the required sample frequency f, that results in just no slope overloading for a sinwave at a frequency of 15 kHz with an amplitude of 1 V. b) Determine the bit rate of the DM signal. For the following, take the sample frequency f, = 10 MHz. c) Calculate the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) after decoding of the DM-signal, when the signal power is m² (t) = 2 V² and the equivalent noise bandwidth of the applied lowpass filter is B = 20 kHz. eq d) Calculate the minimum data rate that can be achieved when pulse code modulation (PCM) would be applied in case the SNR for uniformly distributed amplitudes has to be at least equal to the value as found in c).
