A patient is rushed to the ER exhibiting the following signs:
Headache, muscle twitching/tremor, hypomania, confusion, shivering,
sweating, hyperthermia, tachycardia, hypertension and nausea. You
find out they have been taking an MAOI for depression but because
it had not been very effective, they decided to add some fluoxetine
they had left over from a previous prescription. Based on this
information, you know they are suffering from which of the
following:
A. Noradrenergic toxicity
B. Dopamine toxicity
C. Tyramine toxicity
D. Serotonin toxicity
