LM is a 19-yo female admitted through the ER after a high-speed
MVA, a head-on collision with a truck. She was a restrained front
seat passenger. She was admitted with a closed head injury
and 15% TBSA burn to arms and upper trunk. (These indicate severe
stress). MD orders include vital signs q hr, I&O, lactated
Ringer’s IV at 75 ml/hr (this is just above fluid needs, as such
endpoint tube feeding rate should not exceed this volume)
