15) Consider a cylinder of fixed volume comprising twocompartments that are separated by a freely movable, adiabaticpiston. In each compartment is a 2.00 mol sample of perfect gaswith constant volume heat capacity of 20 J/K.mol. The temperatureof the sample in one of the compartments is held by a thermostat at300 K. Initially the temperatures of the samples are equal as wellas the volumes at 2.00 L. When energy is supplied as heat to thecompartment with no thermostat the gas expands reversibly, pushingthe piston and compressing the opposite chamber to 1.00 L.
a) the final pressure of the of the gas in the chamber with nothermostat. [2]
b) the final temperature of the gas in the chamber with nothermostat. [2]
