You are a newly hired project manager for a Canadian based
non-profit organization that has been providing medical kits and
technical training services to remote poor aboriginal communities
in northern Canada. The Executive Director now wants to expand
coverage in Canada and begin to expand overseas (in the Executive
Director’s own words, “the third world”). The Executive Director
and the Board have asked your advice on how to get funding from
Global Affairs Canada for both initiatives (i.e., further expansion
into more remote Canadian communities and overseas expansion into
less developed countries). What would be your comments and advice?
