Student registration system (SRS) Eduvos would like to develop astudent registration system (SRS) that can be deployed on anyoperating system. The new system will allow students to registerfor courses and view their semester results from any type ofcomputer device. Lecturers will be able to access the system tosign in to access the courses that have been assigned to them aswell as to record grades. The system should allow all coursesoffered by the university to be maintained up-to-date and can beaccessible through the Internet. The registrar’s office willmaintain course information and grades. At the beginning of eachsemester, students may request/ access a list of course offeringsfor the semester. Information about each course, such as lecturers, departments, and any prerequisites, will be included (byregistrar’s office) to help students make informed decisions. Theuniversity should be able to allow students to sign in to select anumber of course offerings for the semester. Each course offeringwill limit to a maximum number and a minimum number of students. Acourse offering with fewer than the minimum number of students willbe cancelled. Students can change their registered courses. Therefore, they must be able to gain access to the system duringthe semester to drop courses. Once the registration process iscompleted for a student, the system will send the information tothe billing system so he or she can be billed for the semester. Ifa course fills up during the registration process, the student mustbe notified so that the selected course is submitted forprocessing. At the end of the semester, the students will be ableto access the system to view an electronic report card containingthe grades of all courses taken by him or her. Since grades aresensitive information, the system must employ extra securitymeasures to prevent unauthorised access. Lecturers must be able tosee which students have signed up for their course offerings. Inaddition, the lecturers will be able to record and view the gradesof courses taken by the students in their classes.
