A spacecraft with a mass of M=1200kg to be landed on Jupiter is being tested on earth. The characteristic diameter of the spacecraft is D and its drag force is FD. The landing velocity of the spacecraft on Jupiter is to be U=100 m/s. The acceleration of gravity on Jupiter is g=23.1 m/s2 and its atmospheric density p=0.16 kg/m³. A model test is being designed to practice this landing on earth using a 1/10 scale model (i.e., the model to prototype diameter ratio is 1/10). The earth gravity is 9.81 m/s2 and the air density on earth is 1.2 kg/m³. A dimensional analysis is performed and the following dimensionless groups relevant to this F problem are determined:_ gD =6 D M PU²D² PD3 To have realistic test on earth that resembles the conditions on Jupiter, determine: a. The mass of the model spacecraft in kg. Enter this mass below in kg. b. The landing velocity of the model spacecraft in m/s. c. The ratio of the model to prototype drag force.
