(b) The following data are given for a fluid power system: Cylinder piston diameter Cylinder rod diameter Extending speed of cylinder External load on cylinder Pump volumetric efficiency Pump mechanical efficiency Pump speed Pump inlet pressure = 0.2 m = 0.1 m = 0.07 m/s = 178 KN = 92 % = 90% = 1800 rpm =-27.6 kPa The total pressure drop in the line from the pump discharge port to the blank end of the cylinder is 517 kPa. The total pressure drop in the return line from the rod end of the cylinder is 345 kPa. Determine the: (i) Volumetric displacement of the pump, (ii) Input power required to drive the pump, (iii) Input torque required to drive the pump, and (iv) Percentage of pump input power delivered to the load.
