The following equation is to solve a simple Economic Dispatch (ED) problem: NG =Σa i=1 where PTG is the total power output of generators and ai, bi and ci denote the cost coefficients of respected generator PG₁. The characteristic of two generators are as follows: FCost (PTG) = Unit 1: Coal-fired steam unit: - Max output = 650 MW Min output = 150 MW Input-output curve: H₁ Unit 2: Oil-fired steam unit Max output = 400 MW Min output = 100 MW Input-output curve: H MBtu h MBtu h ai + biPgi + CiPi =467.5+6.6P, +0.0013017P² |=310.0+7.85P₂ +0.00194P2² (a) Calculate the economic operation point for these two units When delivering a total 500 MW. Price of coal = 1.25 RM/MBtu and oil = 1.1 RM/MBtu. Given the initial value of O O P₁ = 600 MW P2 = 400 MW
